Owner-operators, small fleets and new authorities, licensed in 28 states. We place each line of coverage with the market that handles it best — so a claim on one policy never puts the rest of your program at risk.
Send us your MC/DOT and we'll come back with real numbers — not a range.
We don't sell one bundled package and call it a day. Each coverage gets placed where it performs best — and we tell you plainly what a policy does and does not do.
Primary liability meeting FMCSA minimums and the higher limits shippers and brokers ask for. Filings (MCS-90, BMC-91X) handled for you.
RequiredProtects the freight you're hauling. We review exclusions line by line — reefer breakdown, theft, unattended vehicle — before you sign.
Required by most brokersYour tractor and trailer, on and off dispatch. Deductible structured around what your lender will actually accept.
Lender requirementBobtail coverage for when the truck is off dispatch — the gap that catches leased owner-operators most often.
Premises and operations exposure at your yard, terminal or office. Frequently required on shipper contracts.
Coverage for trailers you pull under an interchange agreement but don't own.
Statutory comp for employee drivers, or occupational accident for contractors. We'll explain which one your model requires.
Additional limits above your primary auto and general liability when a contract calls for $2M, $5M or more.
New authority, reinstatements, UCR, IFTA support and certificate holders — the paperwork that keeps you rolling.
Different operations carry different risk. We underwrite the conversation before we shop the market.
Under own authority or leased on. Bobtail, physical damage and occ-acc structured to what the carrier you're leased to actually requires.
First 12 months are the hardest and most expensive. We know which markets will write you and what will get you declined.
2–50 power units. Loss-run review, driver criteria, and a renewal strategy that starts 90 days out — not 5 days out.
Cargo written with reefer breakdown handled correctly, including continuous-monitoring and pre-trip requirements.
Securement, tarping and over-dimensional loads — coverage that matches how you actually load.
Class 3–5 operations and expedited freight, including non-CDL units that many markets won't touch.
Most carriers lose money on downtime and paperwork, not on premium. That's where we're built to help.
You shouldn't lose a load waiting on a COI. Request it in the portal or email certificates@topgearig.com — our average turnaround during office hours is 15 minutes.
Putting cargo and physical damage with the same carrier looks convenient until you have a claim — then you lose leverage on both. We separate them wherever the market allows.
We know which lenders accept a $5,000 physical damage deductible and which don't. Getting that wrong costs you a bigger share of premium against your total insured value.
We begin remarketing three months ahead with clean loss runs and a full submission — that's how you get real competition on your account.
Report an accident any hour through the portal or claims@topgearig.com. We stay in it with the adjuster until it closes.
English, Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian and Russian. Insurance contracts are hard enough in a first language.
MC/DOT, units, drivers, radius, commodities and current renewal date. Five minutes on the phone or through the form.
Loss runs, MVRs, equipment schedule. A complete file gets better pricing than a rushed one — every time.
Carrier, limits, deductibles, exclusions and total cost. We tell you which one we'd pick and exactly why.
Filings submitted, certificates issued, portal access set up the same day. Then we service the account all year.
An assistant that answers instantly, any hour, and routes anything that needs a human straight to the right desk at our agency.
Fifteen minutes on average during office hours, and same business day at the latest. Request it through the client portal or email certificates@topgearig.com with the holder's name and address.
Yes. New ventures are more limited and more expensive in the first 12 months, but the market exists. What matters most is your driving record, CDL experience, radius of operation and the commodities you plan to haul. Call us before you buy a truck — the equipment you pick affects what you'll pay.
Because when both sit with one carrier, a single loss affects your leverage on both lines at renewal, and you lose the option to move one without moving the other. When the market allows, separate placements give you more options at claim time and at renewal. We'll only combine them when it's the last workable option — and we'll tell you when that's the case.
Usually. Most lenders will approve a $5,000 physical damage deductible, and some cap lower. It matters: the carriers that won't go above $5,000 charge a higher percentage of your total insured value. We check the lender's requirement before we quote, so nothing falls apart at closing.
Report it immediately — through the portal, or claims@topgearig.com, day or night. Send photos, the police report number and the other party's information. We file it with the carrier, stay on the adjuster and keep you updated until the file closes.
